【Ergo Lite】Nothing Will Hold Her Back!

When we first saw Amar Hong’s Instagram profile, we had to know who this stylish lady was!

“My grandma grew up in China during World war two. When she was 10 years old she was separated from her family and came to Thailand alone. She got a new name “Hong” from her neighbour who lived in Chinatown, Bangkok.

This year she turned 83 years old. She’s a hard worker and also kind to everyone. Last 9 years her knee has become painful and our family decided to buy the Karma Ergo Lite wheelchair because the material and the weight is very light to carry with one hand.

A trip to Japan!

Grandma and our family enjoy the trips everywhere we visit because the size and weight of it makes it easy to move from a car, airplane and any transportation.

Exploring Europe with the whole family.

In 2016, grandma had knee replacement surgery because she had bone to bone contact. But after surgery around 5 months, we had a long Europe trip for 22 days and that’s really fine. Grandma has wonderful times every trip, even in rain, slippery floor or hillside……everything is alright!!!”

【S-Ergo 115】My wheelchair is freedom, it is me, it gives me equal and endless opportunities.

Hi guys, It’s Hannah. I have been asked by KARMA Mobility to talk about my wheelchairs and the experiences they have given me.

I have had a wheelchair since I was tiny, and now have 3 different chairs for different occasions (1 being a KARMA wheelchair). Without a wheelchair, I would have no life. I would literally be stuck in my house all the time, with nowhere to go and no big dreams to dream.

Travelling to sunny places is my favourite thing to do, and having my manual chair has made this possible. I have seen many countries and lots of my favourite sandy beaches, my KARMA chair is definitely up for this challenge.

It is also important to me, that my chair feels comfortable but looks cool, you know? I would always make sure I had the coolest looking chair to go with my style.

KARMA focuses on a future where everyone can have a wheelchair that is right for them. This makes me so excited for mini me’s and the future of wheelchair users. Their page also helps discuss funding, which I know is a big part of it.

My name is Mahmood Al-Haiki, 27 years old. I am having a movement disability since my childhood. Currently, I am working as a Marketing Officer in Hospital.

Since I was little, my father and brother have been my greatest supports against all those who don’t believe my ability to achieve anything I want to do, because of my disability. When I was younger, I was once inspired by Nick Vujicic’s speech and his story deeply, then I started to challenge myself to live the life I want.

Now I cook, I drive, I even ride horses. Among all these amazing things, discovering the world is my favourite hobby. I have been using Karma S-Ergo 305 for a long while. It not only makes my travelling much easier, but it also makes transportation in my trip faster and convenient.

【Falcon】Being Differently Able instead of Disabled

Thank you KARMA, for changing lives for people like me who now think of themselves as Differently Able.

Hi, I am Bratati Sen, It’s my privilege that I am writing this story, the story of an ordinary girl who bound to be dependent on childhood and saw the world indifferently. But as time passes, my thinking and dependence on others have also taken a new route, the route for “Freedom”. And all this happen due to my power wheelchair KP-25.2 from Karma. From the day when I got this chair, gradually it gives a heavy impact on my daily living life.

Nowaday, I used this power wheelchair KP25.2 in my all activities like shopping, gardening and hopping in the market. People are very curious to see how a physically challenged woman drive the wheelchair in the market. And I feel very happy and live my life in colours. All this happened due to Karma and their very good wheelchair.

【Falcon】My KP-25.2 makes my life independent! Every obstacle can be conquered if you want.

Thank you, Karma for enabling my life and making me independent!

I first started using a Karma manual wheelchair in 2008 and it was very durable, lasting until 2014. I then switched to another brand of a manual wheelchair for four years.

In June of 2018, I received my brand new Karma KP25.2 motorised wheelchair. However, since the joystick was too far for me to reach (I have short limbs*), I requested Karma to manufacture a custom bracket to bring the joystick closer to my arm.

Highly satisfied with the product as well as the after-sales service. Within a month, they manufactured it and delivered it to me.

*Photo on the left shows that before the customisation, the joystick was too far from my arms so I would have to lean over to reach it during the ride which was bad for me to keep my seat position.

Would definitely recommend Karma wheelchairs – manual or motorised – to anyone who wants a quality wheelchair at a reasonable price.

【KP-45.3】Racing the garbage truck with my KP-45.3!

Karma’s KP-45.3 is my main mobility aid. Ever since I moved into my new house, my lifestyle became very steady-paced; I am usually out shopping for cuisine, going to my bank, or at the rehabilitation centre. To be honest, I took a liking to my new lifestyle. It keeps me busy.

However, there is just one thing that bugs me about my new home, taking out the garbage.

The garbage truck comes to our neighbourhood every day at 7 PM. By that time, it’s very dark and it’s very hard to see where I’m going. Because of this, I still bring my garbage back to where I used to live. the garbage truck there comes during the day when there is still light out…

Every day around 3 to 4 PM I would get on my KP-45.3 and put a cardboard box on the footplate with my trash inside it. Then, I would put my feet on both sides of the box to make sure nothing falls out. Now I’m set off and wander around until the truck comes.

Whenever the garbage man sees me, never mind if I’m at the station or not, he would always tell his partner to help me dump my garbage into the truck. I would like to heartily thank that driver for lighting up my world.

【KP-40】Have a look here! Karma’s KP-40 is helping me plant the seeds of my life

The KP-40 that I am sitting on in the picture is my third electric wheelchair made by Karma. For me, wheelchair is like a part of my body. It is my legs and I can’t go anywhere without it.

Yunlin Lin is a city which specialises in agriculture. One day I went to Ms. Shu’s house to help her plant some vegetables, and all of a sudden I had this idea: Why not host an event where everyone can learn to grow corn crops?

I gathered a few of my colleagues.  We made preparations in October and on the 10th of November we plowed through the fields with our exclusive “Karma Fleet”. We used our wheelchairs to mark out the distances needed between the crops, and we proudly planted down the first seed.

Corns can be purchased in almost every food market, but the process of growing it yourself brings a whole new feeling. It has also brought disable people like myself a thing called “hope. Seeing that we are able to produce crops on our own made us feel we are no longer a burden to our families. With our Karma made wheelchairs, we look forward to a better future!

【KP-40】Sharing newborn happiness!

If there is a way to get there, I want to be there.

I often cruise around the neighbourhood in my Karma KP-45 or KP-40, looking for old friends to chat gossip with. I’m so lively that my friends say they all hear me calling even before they see me arriving!

My granddaughter has just celebrated her first birthday. The last time I saw her,  she was only nine months old. Her face was so chubby, what a healthy baby!

I often let her sit in my KP-40 with me and take her for joy rides around the city. All my friends agree, she is the cutest baby they have ever seen. Once we were at a  baby clothing store and the clothes that are supposed to suit her age didn’t fit her! The employee said to me, “What a big baby!”

After we finished shopping, it was time to head home. We sang our favourite songs and were both overjoyed. She smiled like an angel; this picture right here on my phone was taken that day when we were humming our way home.

Many years have passed since I first purchased this KP-40. Expectedly, the battery charger is a little worn out. One of these days I will call the good-looking maintenance workers to help me fix my charger.

【Falcon】Now able to cook, I am finally myself again!

When I take my KP-25.2 indoors, the size of the wheelchair makes it just perfect for me to move freely inside the kitchen, a task that would have required help from my family members before.

I have been using manual wheelchairs for a long time and I’ve always felt like they were hard to push forward. Searching throughout the years for the chair that suited me, I’ve come across many decent ones but unfortunately, most of them required too much effort for me to move around.

Two years ago, one of my friends suggested to me  Karma’s power chair, KP-25.2 and that is when I found out what I  have been missing.

Now I can get to places without any help, including going to the nearby markets, taking my kids to school, and getting to work that I was recently hired for.

This wheelchair can be operated both indoors and outdoors. Unlike many other wheelchairs, the KP-25.2 can ascend outdoor hills smoothly without getting stuck halfway.

When I take my KP-25.2 indoors, the size of the wheelchair makes it just perfect for me to move freely inside the kitchen, a task that would have required help from my family members before.

Recently I’ve been starting to go out a lot, and I need a power chair with a larger battery or else I have to charge the battery quite often. If my budget allows me to upgrade my wheelchair in the future, I know for sure that I will come back again to Karma for their new products!

【S-Ergo 305】It is easy to self-propelled or to be pushed by attendants. It makes life easier and convenient

I have been in a wheelchair since I was injured 8 years ago.

I replaced my last wheelchair with a Karma S- Ergo 305 one year ago. I like it a lot. It is hard for me toe self-propelled, so when I need to get around, my family and friends help me out. For this reason, I was looking for an easy to push wheelchair.

I do have one suggestion for S-Ergo 305. In order to enhance the comfort of long term sitting, I would prefer to have pneumatic tires on both the front and rear wheels. The main reason for this is that I don’t often stay outside alone for long duration, so I have no worries about getting a flat tire. In my opinion, the pneumatic tires would fit my needs better.

I  had a test run  of an Ergo-stand recently. My arms are too weak to use a manual wheelchair, so I want to own a power wheelchair in the near future.  Ergo-stand is a power wheelchair which provides a function to help users stand up. With this function, the users are more free and confident in social situations. I was so touched after the test. It has been a so long since I last stood up, I almost forgot how tall I am.

【KM-CP32】It saves me lots of efforts to take care of my kids. Athoughtfully and considerately designed wheelchair

There are many things that are hard to be said and expressed when you are the mother of a child who has CP (cerebral palsy).

Karma’s KM-CP32 has saved me a great amount of effort when it comes to me taking care of my child.

My child sat in oversized wheelchairs for a very long time. Seeing her so uncomfortable, I decided to order a custom made KM-CP32 just for her.

【KM-AT20】Helps me move effortlessly and independently!

My daughter spends a lot of time outdoors which is why I was determined to find a wheelchair that can help me become more independent, just so I can spend more time with her.

I have been using Karma’s AT-20 since my accident.

This wheelchair is very portable, mainly because it can be moved around quite conveniently.

I can move around easily whenever I’m seated in my AT-20; I can maneuver myself indoors on my own and when I’m outside I have a caretaker to help me push.

The person standing beside me in this picture is my daughter. I think she gets her curly hair and sweet smile from me!

Recently I accompanied my daughter to her school on Sports Day with Karma’s brand new KP-30… My daughter spends a lot of time outdoors which is why I was determined to find a wheelchair that can help me become more independent, just so I can spend more time with her.

【KM-AT20】Easy to maneuver, very portable, and a highly reliable helper!

When I’m on the road with my KM-AT20 I feel like I can go anywhere.

I am currently using Karma’s KM-AT20, and it suits me nicely.

When it comes to wheelchairs, I have been rolling around with Karma custom-made ones for a really long time. I have tried the KM-8520, owned the KM-AT10, and now progressed to my current KM-AT20.

The new AT-60 can be shifted around with way less effort, but due to the fact it is less transportable than my current AT20, I did not consider it to be a viable option.

I prefer my wheelchair to be easily portable otherwise I will have a hard time fiting it inside my car trunk.

When I’m on the road with my KM-AT20 I feel like I can go anywhere. I can move around with ease and the AT20 can even take me across small gaps! It is a great tool for transportation and a great helper.

【S-Ergo 105】 Specially designed S-Ergo seating, gives my dad a pleasant feeling

My father has spent this past year either lying on his bed or sitting in his wheelchair.

Some time ago one of my friends gave father a wheelchair, but unfortunately it wasn’t the very comfortable according to him. It was then that I decided to find my dad a wheelchair that he can be fully satisfied with.

The first time I saw the brand ‘Karma’ was when I was browsing on the web. I phoned them up to ask for more detailed information about their products and the professional attitude of their customer service still remains on my mind until this day. I went to their dealership and they suggested that I try out the S-Ergo 105. I was amazed by the quality of the wheelchair and the ergonomic seating. We purchased it right away.

My father loves this wheelchair. He said that it is more comfortable to sit on than the couch we have at home. I’m so glad I have purchased this chair. Its value is greater than its price.

【Ergo Lite】It offers me wonderful family trips without any burdens.

The wheelchair saves my wife a lot of energy taking care of me.

I am only able to walk so far. In my daily life, I normally use a power wheelchair. The manual wheelchair is for going outside or travelling.

My wife preferred a manual wheelchair for outdoor activities. The other patients in the rehabilitation centre refer us to Karma. From what they told us, I know Karma is a company with a good reputation from the end users.  Also, a high percentage of the wheelchairs on the market belong to Karma.

In addition, we took into consideration the convenience of regular maintenance and repairs. It is one of the key reasons for our purchase. Karma is a Taiwanese brand and the ultra-lightweight of Ergo lite wheelchair coupled with the high quality of the product are the three main reasons for us to purchase the wheelchair.

The wheelchair is very light and convenient in my daily life. I love the storage bag as well. The wheelchair saves my wife a lot of energy taking care of me.

I love Karma’s products very much and will continue to purchase their products in the future if I am in need of another wheelchair. I hope there will be more ergonomically designed and lightweight products for me by then.

【MVP 502】Reclining back and elevating footrest makes taking care of my mother much easier

Taking care of an elderly woman is harder than most people think. It has been nine years since my mother was admitted to us. She no longer walks on her own and uses a wheelchair.

I first purchased a Karma product was five years ago. It was S-Ergo 105 which is very light and portable. It was the reason why we picked it up. Recently my mom suffered a  bone fracture and some of my friends advised me to get her a MVP 502. After discovering that it comes with a reclining feature and elevating footrests, we bought it immediately.

Another thing I like about this wheelchair is that its armrests are adjustable and flips back whenever the backrest is reclining. I find Karma to be very diligent when it comes to their product designs. Knowing that my mother can now rest comfortably on her MVP 502, I have decided to purchase one more exclusively for my friend.

【KP-45.3】Living life with KP-45.3 , taking me wherever I want to go

I am entirely satisfied with my Karma KP 45.3, it takes me to everywhere I want to go.

It has been a while since I purchased Karma’s KP-45.3 power wheelchair.

I dislike spending my entire day at home. I am a very active person and that is why I need a good wheelchair that can take me wherever I want to go. The KP-45.3 serves me nicely for this exact purpose since the seat is very stable for outdoors uses.

Other than the features listed above, other good points about the KP-45.3 are its amazing battery life, the flashy design, and its comfortable cushion that softened many of my bumpy rides. I am entirely satisfied with this wheelchair.
